Oberaurach (dpa / lby) - Open airs and big parties are canceled - the Franconian band Dorfrocker is therefore quickly looking for other venues: The three brothers Philipp, Tobias and Markus Thomann want to give concerts on farms in summer and autumn.

They bring the stage and technology with them.

The corona pandemic is currently slowing down many artists.

"But we don't want to bury our heads in the sand, special times need special ideas," said Markus Thomann of the German Press Agency.

He and his brothers hope that live performances in front of up to 100 people will be possible again in the summer.

And they want to give these concerts on farms in German-speaking countries.

The idea of the farm tour came about after the village rockers had published the song “Der King” together with the comedian Thomas Willibald (“Addnfahrer”) at the beginning of April.

In the song they celebrate the farmers - and were surprised by the positive response.

"The response was enormous," said Thomann.

Agriculture deserves more respect and recognition again.

That is why they want to support the farmers with the tour.

For the first appearance on a farm, the village rockers started a voting on the social networks on Sunday: Farmers can send in a video or photo to present themselves and their work.

The village rocker fans can then vote on who should have the first concert.

"Agriculture is very diverse," said Thomann - this is what this campaign wanted to show.

Any farmer can apply - regardless of whether they are a classic dairy farmer, fruit grower or direct marketer.

And: Because the video for “The King” received so much attention on the Internet, the band wants to travel to Mallorca by tractor.

The tractor trip is planned for this year, said Thomann.

The village rockers said they were nominated for the "Echo" music prize, and albums made it into the top 10 of the German album charts.

They appear regularly on television shows;

in addition, they usually do around 140 live performances a year.
