Friday morning around 8:45 a.m., the two victims, aged 34 and 57, both employees of a cleaning company, were violently mown by a Ford Fiesta which was rushing at them like a ram car, in this parking lot. located in front of a Decathlon sign in Mérignac, in the suburbs of Bordeaux.

One of the victims was subsequently severely beaten by the driver of the Ford Fiesta.

An investigation for attempted assassinations

In a surveillance video sent to AFP, we can first see the two victims discussing in this parking lot, then a car with two individuals on board crashing into them at high speed, snatching one of the men under its wheels and throwing the other against a tree. In the images, we then see the latter punched and kicked by the driver of the Ford. Witnesses to the scene intervened to put an end to the violence. According to the first elements of the investigation, one of the attackers shouted: "you will never do that to my mother again", reported the prosecution which opened an investigation for "attempted assassinations".

Transported to hospital, the two victims did not have their vital prognosis engaged but presented "very serious injuries".

According to the prosecution, the 34-year-old victim, presented as the spouse of the driver's mother, suffers from a head trauma and an open ankle fracture.

The other victim, "more seriously injured", suffered in particular from head trauma and an open fracture of the tibia.

The departmental security, seized by the prosecution, quickly managed to establish that the vehicle had been rented the same morning by the driver's mother, a 42-year-old woman, residing in Bègles in the suburbs of Bordeaux, who was placed in police custody. .

Investigators are examining the track of a settling of scores against the backdrop of a marital dispute.

A complaint for domestic violence against one of the victims

According to the prosecution, this woman, mother of three children from a first union, had filed a complaint in 2018 for violence against the 34-year-old victim with whom she had two other children, placed in foster care. In custody, the driver and son of the Girondine, born of the first union, "explains that his mother recently complained to him of violence on the part of her spouse with whom she has an episodic relationship", a told AFP the prosecutor of the Republic of Bordeaux Frédérique Porterie.

"He indicates that he wanted to teach him a lesson and that he" twisted "when he saw him," added the prosecutor, adding that according to him, his motivations are not linked to the murder of a woman by her violent husband perpetrated this week in the same town of Mérignac.

On the run and arrested at Blanc-Mesnil (Seine-Saint-Denis), the young man is suspected of having made the return trip by TGV from the Paris region with the passenger of the car, arrested, him at the station of Paris-Montparnasse.

A third man, presumed accomplice, was arrested in the Paris region, suspected of having bought train tickets.
