Hanover (dpa / lni) - The Lower Saxony District Association (NLT) has criticized the state's new Corona regulation, in particular for the obligation to test outdoor restaurants and retailers.

«That is not expedient in the matter and means a serious disadvantage for rural areas.

There is no extensive test structure in any location, ”President Klaus Wiswe was quoted as saying in a statement on Sunday.

For circles with an incidence below 100, this does not mean a relaxation for the retail sector, but rather a tightening for medium-sized and larger stores.

"That doesn't fit at all with the development of the infection situation."

On Monday, a changed corona regulation with numerous relaxations will come into force in Lower Saxony. In districts and cities with a stable seven-day incidence (new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week) below 100, trade, gastronomy, tourism and cultural events can loosen up again subject to certain conditions. A prerequisite in many areas is the presentation of a negative corona rapid test, proof of a complete vaccination or a survived infection.

For the district day, it is also incomprehensible why tourism is initially only open to residents of Lower Saxony.

It is also criticized that little practical information from the districts and the Hanover region was taken up in the hearing process.

«Despite a deadline of just a few hours, the central municipal associations issue a comprehensive statement on every regulation.

The local colleagues do not understand why their practical experience is still so little incorporated into the state's legislation, ”explained Managing Director Hubert Meyer.
