In Senegal, fifteen collectives grouped together within the multi-struggle organization Doyna (“that's enough” in Wolof) gathered on Saturday May 8 in the place of the obelisk in Dakar to denounce land speculation, the demolition of houses, unfair dismissals, clientelist recruitment, etc.

All denounce being victims of injustice and demand compensation from the State.

A rally authorized and supervised by the Frapp France Dégage movement.

Signs in hand, the fifteen groups each explained their demands in turn.

Samuel Mokhtar Ba is president of a collective that brings together carpenters or mechanics who have been expelled from their workplace:

Forced expropriation is too commonplace in Senegal, it is not normal, it must stop.

all these people who are there have suffered fundamental injustices, and together, we will be stronger.

 "

Ibrahima Ly, from the Jaxaay collective, came to claim the housing promised by the state when their houses were destroyed in 2005.

It's not just the guys from the garages who are there, there are also students, people who have been victims of theft, who come to claim their rights so that justice is done.

Because we think once again that we are in a country of law.

 "

The political opponent Ousmane Sonko listened to the demands in the public, before leaving without speaking to journalists.

Guy Marius Sagna, founding member of the Frapp – France Dégage movement, recalled the importance of making the various struggles more audible.

It is the sum of several frustrations that gave birth to what some have called the wave of February and

March 2021

.

If we want to avoid a second wave, we appeal to the authorities to settle the claims of the populations.

"

A new demonstration is planned after Ramadan if no response from the authorities is obtained.
