Weißenfels (dpa) - The management of Syntainics MBC has to look for a new trainer.

Silvano Poropat announced his departure from Weißenfels on Sunday just before the kick-off of the last season game of the Central Germans against EWE Baskets Oldenburg.

«I am very happy that I am leaving the MBC in the Bundesliga.

It is a good feeling.

I would now like to devote myself to other challenges, ”said Poropat, explaining his decision on Twitter.

You part on the good.

For the third time, the paths between the coach and the Bundesliga club from Central Germany will separate. The 50-year-old Croatian had signed a contract in Weißenfels for the first time for the 2011/12 season. He led the club straight back to the first division and received a five-year contract until 2020 in the spring of 2015.

But on December 26, 2015, Poropat resigned at his own request due to the lack of sporting success.

The team was then in the table cellar of the German House of Lords.

In January 2019, the Croat took over command in Weißenfels again and saved the MBC from falling into the second division.

Subsequently, the club and the coach were unable to agree on further cooperation even then.

Poropat's third return to the city of Saale followed in February 2020. After a year or more, the Bundesliga team and the coach have again found no common ground.
