Three people were injured in a shooting on Saturday afternoon at the Aventura Mall that scattered shoppers to hide in stores and flee the exits shortly before 4pm.

The Miami Herald quoted police as saying that an altercation between two groups of people turned into a physical clash outside the Hugo Boss store in the mall, and one person from a group took a pistol, and a man from the other group pulled out another pistol and fired several shots, according to eyewitnesses and the police. .

Authorities said at least three people were receiving treatment in local hospitals for injuries that did not pose a threat to their lives.

 Major Michael Bentulela of the Aventura Police told reporters that the shooter, a black man in an all-black uniform, fled the scene, heading west, and a number of security agencies were looking for him, while investigators were questioning three suspects who had been detained.
