- Now I see that there are several fresh snowmobile tracks over in exactly the same place and the currents are starting to take on the ice.

It looks just like the year with black guards and stretches where there is no ice, says Anders Lundkvist from Jukkasjärvi.

Could have gone really bad

The accident six years ago could have gone really bad if the snowmobile rider who drove into an icy wake had not received help quickly.

Everything happened at Torneälv at the height of Puimunen just above Rimisaari upstream towards Laxforsen in Kiruna municipality.

- It probably goes well a few times and it is sunny and pleasant.

But down there in the black water and the current, it's cold and it's not sure anyone will see you before the current takes you and pulls you under the ice.

"Seems like a match item"

With the nasty accident 6 years ago fresh in his mind, Anders Lundkvist wants to emphasize how unnecessary it is to challenge fate just because it's fun, something he went out and warned about even on social media.

- There are still those who challenge this, it seems to be a match to drive on bad ice but it can go very fast from heaven to hell and it can happen to anyone if you are not careful, he says seriously in his voice.

And he believes that those who drive scooters in this way should keep in mind that it does not only affect those who risk drowning because he has just inspected areas where no one should drive a scooter at this time of year.

- Today I saw snowmobile tracks that go straight out right next to the guards, so stop risking your relatives' grief and the lives of those who at best see you and try to save you, says Anders Lundkvist.
