Zwickau (AP) - The handball women from BSV Sachsen Zwickau made their promotion to the 1st Bundesliga perfect.

The team of trainer Norman Rentsch defeated TuS Lintfort on Saturday in their own hall with 32:27 (18:13).

This means that the Zwickau women can no longer be displaced from first place in the 2nd league by pursuers Füchse Berlin one match day before the end of the season.

For the BSV Sachsen, the rise is the greatest success of the past few years.

Since the first division relegation in 1996, the club played continuously in the second division.

This season, the Rentsch team fought a close duel with Füchsen Berlin over long stretches for first place in the table, which entitles them to direct promotion.

With the success over Lintfort, the Zwickau women celebrated their 13th win in a row and are in the table before the last game day with 45: 5 points unassailable.

In the preliminary game, the Saxons showed a concentrated performance right from the start and were already in the lead with five goals at the break.

In the second round, the BSV Sachsen brought the lead safely to the finish.

The best BSV thrower was Rebeka Ertl with eight goals.
