Nuremberg (AP) - Germany's national ice hockey team achieved their first victory in preparation in the last World Cup test.

On Saturday, the selection of the German Ice Hockey Federation won the dress rehearsal for the World Cup in Riga 2-0 (1-0, 0-0, 1-0) against Belarus.

In Nuremberg, Markus Eisenschmid (6th minute) from Adler Mannheim and Justin Schütz (43rd) from EHC Red Bull Munich were the goal scorers.

Before that, the team of national coach Toni Söderholm had lost all five test matches so far, including 1: 4 against Belarus on Friday.

There should be some changes to the final roster.

The World Cup will take place in Riga from May 21st to June 6th.
