After having secured his flight partner, he did not tie himself up and, immediately after take-off, from the delta platform of Col del Puppolo at 850 meters above sea level, he remained hanging from the bar with his arms, until he let go of his grip. making it more. The pilot fell into the void after a surge of the two-seater hang glider and fell for over 300 meters disappearing into the woods below.



The hang glider continued without commands, and then fell among the trees, leaving the woman suspended in the void, between the branches of a plant.



The alarm went off at about 2.30 pm, the Treviso Emergenza helicopter identified the sail and landed with a 30-meter winch, doctor, nurse and helicopter rescue technician, and then flew to board a team of the Alpine Rescue of the Pedemontana del Grappa to start the search for the pilot.



Having identified the woman, the helicopter rescue technician climbed the tree and, after having secured her and freed her from the constraints, lowered her to the ground to entrust her to a station nurse.



The rescuers, who were then joined by other teams, set off with the patrol and circumscribed the area. Shortly before 5 pm the lifeless body of the man was found. At 5.50 pm the doctor managed to reach the place and proceed with the ascertainment of the death. The body was embarked and recovered from the Treviso Emergency ambulance with the car of a winch.



Engine shuts down, emergency landing for ultralight, no injuries


In the Pavese countryside, the engine of an ultralight stopped in flight due to a failure. The pilot had to improvise an emergency landing outside Pieve del Cairo (Pavia), in Lomellina. The maneuver was successful. The 49-year-old driving the aircraft, which had taken off in the afternoon from the Mezzana Bigli (Pavia) airfield, did not suffer any consequences as did the 73-year-old passenger who was at his side who was taken by ambulance from 118 to San Matteo alone. for investigations. The Fire Brigade and the Carabinieri intervened on the spot: investigations are underway to establish the causes of the sudden blockage of the ultralight.
