Scharbeutz (dpa / lno) - The tourism offers in the inner Bay of Lübeck have been open to guests again since Saturday.

This means that restaurants and overnight stays are once again possible in the towns of Timmendorfer Strand, Scharbeutz, Sierksdorf and Neustadt.

The demand is great and the overnight stays are almost all booked out, as a spokeswoman for Timmendorfer Strand Tourismus GmbH told the German press agency.

According to a police spokeswoman, the number of day trippers on the beach promenades was still manageable on Saturday.

The Lübeck law enforcement officers are increasingly using patrol cars in the bay, but the situation is calm.

"It will probably be different tomorrow when the temperatures are correspondingly high," the spokeswoman suspected.

According to the German Weather Service (DWD), there will be a lot of sun on Sunday, especially in the south-east of Schleswig-Holstein.

In the other regions in the north, however, it is likely to be cloudy and occasional showers are to be expected.

Temperatures should reach 19 degrees on Sylt;

It will be warmest between Hamburg and Lauenburg with up to 26 degrees.

The inner Bay of Lübeck is the third of four tourist model regions in Schleswig-Holstein, in which restaurants and tourist overnight stays are again possible.

Strict hygiene requirements apply here.

The model region of North Friesland with the North Sea island of Sylt has welcomed guests from all over Germany again since May 1st.

The model project has been running in the Schleiregion and in Eckernförde since mid-April.

The North Sea resort of Büsum is to follow on May 10th.
