Schmallenberg (dpa / lnw) - Six young adults were injured in a collision between two cars in Schmallenberg in the Sauerland - three of them seriously.

A 24-year-old was unable to brake in time and ran into a 24-year-old driver when he wanted to turn left into a parking lot, the police said on Saturday.

The car in front had left the road on Friday evening, hit a traffic sign and then hit a tree.

The driver and two co-drivers aged 20 and 19 were seriously injured, a 23-year-old was slightly injured.

There is no mortal danger, said a police spokesman.

The driver of the crashed car and his 23-year-old passenger were slightly injured.

All those involved came to nearby hospitals.

According to the police, the vehicles were severely damaged and had to be towed away.

The road was temporarily closed completely.
