Munich (AP) - After the final whistle in distant Dortmund, loud calls echoed from the cabin of FC Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena.

Shortly after arriving with their two red team buses, coach Hansi Flick and the Munich soccer professionals were able to celebrate the 31st championship title.

The 2: 3 of pursuers RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga away game at Borussia Dortmund on Saturday afternoon made the ninth Munich masterpiece in a row perfect even before the kick-off of their own top game in the evening against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

"Of course everyone was also a little happy," Flick reported in an interview with Sky.

The 56-year-old also expressed himself with a look at his farewell at the end of the season.

It was "a pleasure" for him to be able to work with this team.

The designated chairman of the board, Oliver Kahn, spoke of an “unbelievable performance” of the team at Sky.

The Bayern bosses saw the title win together with the Gladbach leadership in front of the television, where they followed the Leipzig defeat.

"With the experience of some championships, the jubilation is a little more set," said former national goalkeeper Kahn.

He assumes that Flick will succeed national coach Joachim Löw in the summer.

Gladbach's coach Marco Rose congratulated the Munich team even before the game started.

He called them a “worthy champion” and “the best team in Germany”.

A picture with the championship trophy, the large number 9 and the heads of the Bayern players and coach Flick was emblazoned on the large display boards in the Munich arena.

For the 30th title win in Bundesliga times, the German record champion now receives a fifth championship star on the jerseys.

"Of course we want to get it," Flick had said before the 32nd matchday.

For attacker Thomas Müller and defender David Alaba it is the tenth championship title, making them the record champions among the players.

For Bayern, who managed the triple last season, the championship is the only title win this year. In the DFB Cup they were eliminated in the 2nd round against the second division Holstein Kiel. And in the Champions League they failed as defending champions in the quarter-finals at Paris Saint-Germain.

For Flick, the seventh title win is under his leadership as head coach and the farewell present to FC Bayern.

The 56-year-old prematurely terminated his contract, which was originally concluded until 2023.

Flick is traded as the successor to national coach Joachim Loew.

The 61-year-old will be leaving the DFB after the European Championship this summer.

But his future has not yet been clarified, said Flick again on Saturday evening.

His successor as Bayern coach will be Julian Nagelsmann, who is moving from RB Leipzig to Munich for a high transfer fee.
