In India, where the explosive spread of the new coronavirus continues, the medical system continues to be in crisis, with the number of deaths per day exceeding 4,000 for the first time.

On the 8th, medical supplies arrived at the site as emergency assistance from Japan.

Over 400,000 newly infected people for 3 consecutive days

The Indian government announced on the 8th that it was confirmed that 401,078 people were newly infected with the new coronavirus, and the number of newly infected people per day exceeded 400,000 for the third consecutive day.

It was also confirmed that 4187 new people had died.

This is the highest number of deaths per day to date, and the first to exceed 4000.

As the infection spreads, many people in India die without proper treatment due to lack of medical oxygen and beds, and the medical system is in serious danger.

The local government in the capital, New Delhi, explains that oxygen generators from abroad are beginning to be installed in multiple hospitals and the supply of oxygen is increasing.

However, as of the 6th of this month, the amount of oxygen that can be supplied in New Delhi as a whole is only about 60% of the required amount, and oxygen deficiency continues.

First arrival of emergency assistance from Japan

Under these circumstances, 100 oxygen concentrators, which are mainly used for the treatment of severely ill people, arrived on the afternoon of the 8th local time as the first emergency assistance from Japan.

The Government of India will distribute medical supplies that arrive from overseas one after another to each state and promote the development of the medical system.
