"The production and promotion of the St. George ribbon entails the imposition of a fine from 50 to 150 tax-free minimum incomes of citizens with the confiscation of the St. George (Guards) ribbon or items containing its images," the statement said.

At the same time, the production and distribution of communist and Nazi symbols, as well as the propaganda of these regimes, provides for criminal liability in the form of imprisonment for up to five years.

The law banning the Ribbon of St. George came into force in Ukraine in the summer of 2017. On the territory of the country, it is prohibited to publicly use, demonstrate, wear and distribute the tape and its images.
