Mannheim (dpa / bb) - The men of the Berlin HC missed the final of the German field hockey championship in Mannheim.

The capital club was defeated on Saturday in the semi-finals to the favorite Rot-Weiss Köln with 4: 6 (2: 2).

The Berliners had already led 4-2 after goals from Marian Klink (40th) and Jonas Gomoll (48th), but within 65 seconds they conceded three goals from two seven meters by Christopher Rühr (48th / 50th) and Florian Adrians ( 49.) collected.

The final point to 6: 4 was set by Elian Mazkour (58th) with a shot into the empty BHC goal.

At 2-2 in the first half, Thies Prinz (11th), who was born in Berlin, put Cologne in the lead, before Olympic champion Martin Häner (16th) equalized with a penalty corner.

Prinz (19th) then scored 2-1, but the BHC struck back again through Tom Neßelhauf (23rd).

For Häner it was the last appearance in the BHC jersey, the 32-year-old ended his Bundesliga career after 16 years.
