“I am pleased to announce that the European Commission has just approved a contract with BioNTech and Pfizer for the supply of 900 million doses of vaccine (plus 900 million doses in reserve) for 2021-2023,” wrote the head of the EC Ursula von der Leyen.

Earlier, the representative of the European Commission Stefan De Keersmaker said that the European Union launched legal proceedings against the company AstraZeneca due to non-fulfillment of the contract for the supply of vaccines against coronavirus to the countries of the union.

AstraZeneca announced plans to challenge the European Commission's claim in court.
