Dresden (AP) - Dynamo Dresden has expanded the table lead in the 3rd soccer league.

Coach Alexander Schmidt's team defeated Viktoria Köln 2-0 (2-0) on Saturday and benefited from the mistakes of the three pursuers Hansa Rostock, FC Ingolstadt and 1860 Munich, all of whom only played a draw.

Heinz Mörschel (11th) and Philipp Hosiner (31st / foul penalty) scored the goals for the Elbe city's 21st win of the season.

Dynamo leads the table with 69 points after 36 match days, followed by Hansa Rostock (67), 1860 Munich (65) and FC Ingolstadt (65).

“Football is no fun without pressure,” said Dynamo's coach before the game. His team seems to have internalized that too. Because against Cologne, the league leaders showed a committed performance from the start and could have taken the lead early on through Agyemang Diawusie (5th). However, the flank player did not put the ball free-standing in the goal twice within 40 seconds. Six minutes later, however, Mörschel met from the edge of the box to the Dresden leadership. Hosiner (31st) increased the penalty to 2-0 before the break.

In the second half, the home side withdrew too far and allowed Cologne to get better into the game.

However, Olaf Janßen's team did not make enough of their field superiority.

More than a long-range shot from Timmy Thiele (56th) and a too centralized header from substitute Lucas Cueto (74th) did not jump out.
