Stuttgart (AP) - VfB Stuttgart will probably have to do without Tanguy Coulibaly in the Bundesliga season's final spurt.
The 20-year-old Frenchman probably sustained a ligament injury in the 2-1 win against FC Augsburg.
“There is a suspicion that there might be something on the inner band.
Suspected inner ligament rupture could be what the end of the season would mean, ”said VfB sporting director Sven Mislintat on Saturday.
Coulibaly was replaced in the 64th minute on Friday evening because of the injury.
Defender Konstantinos Mavropanos (23) and winger Roberto Massimo (20) had to leave the field early due to injury.
Mislintat gave the all-clear for both professionals.
In the case of Massimo, “the nerve closed with a blow to the muscle, but nothing is broken,” he said.
At Mavropanos, the substitution was more of a precautionary measure due to his injury history.
