Rostock (dpa / mv) - The corona incidence in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania continued to fall on Saturday and was below the critical value of 100 for the third day in a row. The State Office for Health and Social Affairs (Lagus) in Rostock reported a seven-day period -Incidence of 88. On Friday this value was 91, on Thursday it had slipped back below 100 for the first time in several weeks.

It describes the number of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days.

The Lagus reported 148 confirmed new infections with the corona virus on Saturday.

That was 112 less than on Friday and 82 less than a week ago (as of 3:34 p.m.).

Two other people died from coronavirus infection.

The total number of corona deaths in the country rose to 1043.

At 137.9, the seven-day incidence is currently highest in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district.

In the other regions of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, this important value is between 42.7 (District of Western Pomerania-Rügen) and 117.8 (District of Mecklenburg Lake District).

According to the office, the total number of corona infections so far detected in MV is 41,963. 37,372 people are considered recovered.

268 people were treated in clinics on Saturday, 13 fewer than on Friday.

74 corona patients remained in intensive care units.
