Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The leading candidate of the Southwest Greens for the federal election, Cem Özdemir, sees no role model for Berlin in the green-black coalition in Baden-Württemberg.

"It is not a preliminary decision for the federal government," said Özdemir on Saturday at the state party conference in Stuttgart.

The search for a coalition partner is different from looking for a partner on a dating portal.

"I really don't see any elite partners," said the Stuttgart member of the Bundestag.

Forming a government with the SPD will probably not be enough mathematically, and the left has a "problem with dictators," said Özdemir.

The Union and its candidate for Chancellor Armin Laschet do not know what to do with power.

"Why does the CDU actually want to become Chancellor," asked Özdemir, referring to the successor to Angela Merkel, and added: "Why does Laschet actually want to go to the Chancellery, except to live there?"

The Federal Greens with Chancellor candidate Annalena Baerbock overtook the CDU / CSU in some surveys.

Özdemir said that the success of Grün-Schwarz in Baden-Württemberg is measured by how many tons of climate-damaging carbon dioxide can be saved.

After their clear success in the state elections, the Greens should no longer allow the CDU to slow down.
