Scharbeutz (dpa / lno) - As the third tourist model region in Schleswig-Holstein, the inner Bay of Lübeck opens up again to guests.

From Saturday on, restaurant visits and tourist overnight stays are possible again in the towns of Timmendorfer Strand, Scharbeutz, Sierksdorf and Neustadt.

However, strict hygiene requirements apply.

Overnight guests must present a negative corona test on arrival, which must not be older than 24 hours.

You have to store your contact details with the Luca app and have yourself tested every 48 hours during your stay.

Despite these restrictions, the places are well booked, said Timmendorfer Strand's head of tourism, Joachim Nitz.

The model region of North Friesland with the North Sea island of Sylt has welcomed guests from all over Germany again since May 1st.

The model project has been running in the Schleiregion and in Eckernförde since mid-April.

The North Sea resort of Büsum is to follow on May 10th.
