Question: how safe the vaccine regional "pass the torch"

Xinhua News Agency reporters Chen Xiyuan and Xu Penghang

At present, vaccination is progressing in an orderly manner. As of May 6, 29.734 million doses of new crown virus vaccine have been reported nationwide.

As the domestic epidemic prevention and control situation stabilizes, the economy continues to recover, and people flow frequently across regions, some people are facing the problem of trans-regional vaccinations against the new crown.

After the first shot, can the second shot be inoculated from another place?

How to securely “hand over” the cross-region vaccination?

The State Council’s Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism issued the "Notice on Doing a Good Job in Trans-regional Vaccination of New Coronavirus Vaccines" and made relevant arrangements.

It is recommended to use the same vaccine product to complete the vaccination

The notice is clear that at this stage, it is recommended to use the same vaccine product to complete the vaccination.

When the same vaccine product cannot be used to complete the vaccination, the same type of vaccine product produced by other companies can be used to complete the vaccination.

If the same type of vaccine cannot be provided and the replanting cannot be completed, the corresponding dose of replanting shall be completed as soon as possible after the conditions are met.

The reporter learned that, usually, inactivated vaccines need to be vaccinated multiple times to achieve a better immune effect.

According to clinical trial data, the first dose of inactivated new coronavirus vaccine can stimulate the body to produce part of the immune response, and after the second dose, it can produce better immune effects.

According to the "New Coronavirus Vaccination Technical Guidelines (First Edition)", the vaccination interval between two doses of the new coronavirus inactivated vaccine is recommended to be greater than or equal to 3 weeks, and the second dose should be vaccinated as soon as possible within 8 weeks.

Recombinant new coronavirus vaccine (CHO cells) requires 3 doses. It is recommended that the vaccination interval between two adjacent doses be greater than or equal to 4 weeks. The second dose should be completed within 8 weeks after the first dose, and the third dose should be inoculated as far as possible. Complete within 6 months after the first dose.

Ensuring cross-regional vaccination to eliminate “one size fits all” household registration

After the first dose of vaccination, how to carry out follow-up vaccination across regions?

The Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council requires in the notice that the vaccination unit responsible for the first dose of vaccination shall record the vaccination-related information of the masses in a timely manner, and provide the masses with vaccination voucher after the vaccination is completed to ensure that the relevant information is recorded complete.

If the masses need to be vaccinated across regions, they should replant the same type of vaccine according to the vaccination voucher provided by the recipient, such as a paper or health code, and register the vaccination information of the corresponding dose on the vaccination voucher.

The State Council’s joint prevention and control mechanism emphasizes that it is necessary to further improve the management level and resolutely eliminate the “one size fits all” situation in which vaccination services are based on household registration.

It is understood that the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council has issued a reference format for vaccination vouchers for use by various provinces, regions, and cities.

Information interconnection and interoperability to ensure a stable “handover” of cross-regional inoculation

Only by breaking through the information "barrier" can we ensure the safe "battle" of cross-regional vaccination.

The State Council’s joint prevention and control mechanism requires that it be studied as soon as possible to incorporate vaccination information into health code management, and strive to realize the entire information interconnection of the new crown virus vaccine across provinces and across provinces and cities.

All localities should make full use of the provincial immunization planning information system and vaccination unit information system to ensure that relevant information such as vaccination circulation, vaccination and suspected abnormal response to vaccination is reported accurately and timely to the vaccine electronic traceability platform and the national immunization planning information system.

The State Council’s joint prevention and control mechanism stated in the notice that all localities should earnestly grasp the cross-regional vaccination of new coronavirus vaccines and actively coordinate vaccination units within their jurisdictions.

Inoculate or replant the new crown virus vaccine for residents in the jurisdiction in accordance with the principles of informed, consent, and voluntariness, so as to effectively improve the people's sense of gain, happiness, and security.
