Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - The Frankfurt Museum Festival planned for the end of August will also be canceled this year due to the corona pandemic.
"As an established cultural festival, the Museumsuferfest has a radiance that extends far beyond the borders of our city," said Mayor Peter Feldmann (SPD) after a message on Friday.
"I very much regret that another cancellation is inevitable."
But even if the vaccination campaign is now making good progress, festivals of this dimension cannot be reliably planned in the current phase of the pandemic.
There will be no station quarter night this year due to the pandemic either.
Feldmann emphasized that this is not a blanket cancellation for all festivals in 2021. There is hope and confidence for the folk festivals and smaller events in late summer and autumn.
