Munich (dpa) - The outgoing Bayern coach Hansi Flick has opened poker for the national coaching post with the German Football Association.

Joachim Löw's former assistant emphasized on Friday in Munich that his return to the DFB was by no means automatic.

"Everyone is focused on the DFB," said Flick before the possible championship win with Bayern Munich this weekend.

"There have already been conversations, including with Olli (Bierhoff), no question," the 56-year-old reported, but he immediately added: "But there have been other conversations as well."

After his great successes, Flick is also a candidate for other top European clubs.

Flick prematurely terminated the contract with the German record champions running until 2023 at the end of the season.

“As far as the future is concerned, nothing has been decided for a long time,” said Flick.

Let's see what happens next. "

The national coach position is also the first option for Flick, as he revealed in the further course of his video press conference.

«National coach is something special.

I know what to expect, ”he said.

Flick became world champion with the national team in Brazil in 2014 as Löw's assistant.

The 61-year-old Löw will stop as national coach after the European Championship in the summer.

The leadership quarrels at the DFB do not seem to be an obstacle for Flick.

"I don't deal with things, I'm not in it," he said of the power struggles in the leadership of President Fritz Keller.

"When I was at the DFB, one or the other was not as calm as you would like it to be."

In the national team, however, there was always "a lot of calm, a lot of loyalty and a lot of appreciation".

"Those are the things that impress me."
