Every other municipality in the county offers fewer summer jobs to young people this year, SVT Nyheter Stockholm's survey shows.

The worst situation is in Lidingö and Ekerö, where only every tenth applicant can get a job.

In total, 13 out of 26 municipalities had fewer holiday jobs this year compared with 2020 when SVT asked the municipalities.

And as last year, it is primarily jobs in elderly care, preschool and LSS activities that have disappeared.

Several municipalities state that they have tried to solve the situation by increasing the number of jobs outdoors and some have found holiday services in completely new areas.

In Tyresö and Solna, for example, young people can apply for jobs as musicians and in Upplands Väsby as a summer artist.

Only five municipalities have more jobs than last year, and the number of places increased most in Stockholm, Sigtuna and Täby.

In Stockholm, an unusual number of young people have applied for municipal summer jobs this year - more than 2,000 more than in previous years.

But just under every second of the 17,500 young people will be offered a place.
