These good results reflect strong demand both domestically and for export.

Chinese exports exceeded expectations in April, giving the world's second-largest economy another boost.

The significant recovery in the United States and the slowdown in manufacturing production in countries still affected by the coronavirus pandemic have boosted demand for Chinese products.

This is the case for electronics purchases, the demand for which has increased sharply due to the development of teleworking linked to the health crisis, just like that for products against the Covid, this is the case for masks and protective clothing.

Strong increase also for imports

In April, over one year, exports jumped by just over 43%, their highest growth rate since 2011. This score should nevertheless be put into perspective, since it is compared with the results of 2020, the year during which the health crisis caused a virtual paralysis of the Chinese economy, causing a 4% decline in imports.

Thanks to improved sanitary conditions and massive screening, China is regaining its pre-pandemic activity level.
