- We have previously announced that the age group 18 years and up will be offered vaccines from the end of May, but now we see that we can bring the start earlier, says Kaisa Karro (S), chairman of the regional board.

Also in phase four, an age division will take place and the oldest will be called first.

But already next week, people between the ages of 18-39, and who belong to a risk group, can book an appointment for vaccination.

High capacity in the county

During the digital press conference, healthcare manager Rickard Lundin and unit manager Anne Boström also made a report from the vaccination center in Saab Arena in Linköping.

- The vaccination work is progressing well and today we have higher capacity than there are doses, so with a higher delivery to the county, the work will go even faster, says Rickard Lundin.

- Today we vaccinate here about 200 people per hour and we can go up to 240. In total at full capacity, including the health centers, we can vaccinate around 700 people per hour in Östergötland, says Anne Boström.
