Saarbrücken (dpa / lrs) - After a one-week closure, schools in the Saarbrücken regional association are allowed to reopen for face-to-face classes from Monday (May 10).

The reason is that the seven-day incidence was below 165 for five working days in a row, said a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health in Saarbrücken on Friday.

Even daycare centers will then return to regular operation under pandemic conditions: This is provided by the rules for the so-called federal emergency brake.

According to the Ministry of Education, schools will then switch between learning from home and teaching in the classroom.

On May 3, schools and daycare centers in the regional association switched to distance teaching and emergency care after the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants had exceeded 165 for three consecutive days within seven days.
