Clausthal-Zellerfeld (dpa / lni) - Snowfall in May: In the Upper Harz on Friday morning, winter reported back and obstructed traffic.

The streets were slippery early in the morning and there were minor accidents, said a police spokesman.

A car had slipped into a ditch near Clausthal-Zellerfeld in the district of Goslar, and about a dozen trucks between Bad Harzburg and Torfhaus were stuck.

Meanwhile, no more snow falls.

Nobody got hurt.

The reason for the wintry weather is cold mountain air, said a spokeswoman for the German Weather Service.

The snow should now "be a thing of the past".

Because at the weekend it should be significantly warmer: In the coming night, frosty minus two degrees in the Harz are possible again, in the night on Sunday three degrees.

In the Hanover area, temperatures should be around freezing on Saturday night, the maximum on Saturday should reach 16 degrees - and on Sunday up to 27 degrees.
