Leipzig (dpa / sn) - Because of a burning car, Bundesstraße 2 was closed for two hours on Thursday evening.
For unknown reasons, the car of a 41-year-old driver caught fire while driving, a police spokesman said.
The 41-year-old was able to bring the burning car to a stop on the hard shoulder between the Leipzig Süd intersection and Markkleeberg and to get to safety.
The car burned out completely.
Because of the salvage work, the lane in the direction of Leipzig was temporarily closed.
The last partial blockage was lifted around 10.30 p.m.
