Bielefeld (dpa) - The future of captain and goalscorer Fabian Klos at Bundesliga soccer club Arminia Bielefeld is still unclear three game days before the end of the season.

In the meantime, there have been initial talks with the association, but these have been “open-ended”, Klos told the Bielefeld newspapers “Westfalen-Blatt” and “Neue Westfälische”.

The contract of the 33-year-old, who has played for Arminia since 2011, expires at the end of the season.

Klos would like to stay in Bielefeld even in the event of relegation.

"The fact that I had already declared that I would like to stay with Arminia for at least another year is not linked to a league membership," he told the "Westfalen-Blatt".

In the "Neue Westfälische" he declared that he was also prepared to make financial cuts.

"It is normal that contracts are no longer negotiated as they were before Corona," he said: "You can talk to me about anything."

There have been no talks with other clubs so far.

A career end in the summer is, according to Klos, "impossible".
