Munich (dpa / lby) - A veterinarian from Swabia is in custody on suspicion of spreading child pornography.
The 62-year-old is said to have distributed corresponding photos and videos over a long period of time in the so-called Darknet, the area of the Internet used for illegal activities, among other things.
As the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office in Munich announced on Friday, an undercover agent had contact with the veterinarian for several months to convict him.
The investigator had also sent the 62-year-old child pornography in order to win the trust of the veterinarian.
Now the suspect has been arrested in a clinic where he was a man for treatment.
His patient room, apartment and practice were also searched.
Data carriers on which child pornographic files were stored were confiscated.

The accused had already received a suspended sentence in 2019 for such offenses.
The police did not provide any further details in order not to jeopardize the further investigation.
