• Politics PP and Citizens underpin their pact with Vox in Andalusia with a new tax cut

  • Opinion Olona, the 'rider' of Vox

With the electoral chapter closed in Madrid, Andalusia is now in the spotlight and the

tactical movements

of the parties

follow one another

.

The last to make a move was Vox, which surprisingly announced this Thursday a complete reorganization of its parliamentary group, its showcase in the absence of a territorial structure, with the replacement of its spokesperson included.

Alejandro Hernández, who had been the voice and the most visible face of the Santiago Abascal party in the Andalusian community, has been relieved by

Manuel Gavira

, who until now was part of the Parliament Board and who was, with the permission of the former spokesman , one of the most prominent members of the group.

Although Vox has ensured that the change from Hernández to Gavira is part of an "ordinary" reorganization, it occurs, and not by chance, in a political context marked by the Madrid elections this Tuesday - in which Vox has not been able rather than keeping what it already had - and, above all, due to the fact that the next call in the

electoral calendar

in Spain - if there are no surprises - will take place in Andalusia, whether or not there is an advance.

This is recognized, in fact, by official Vox sources in Andalusia, who emphasize that even after the legislature is exhausted, there are no more than eight or nine months of effective activity. "We are entering a new political time, with the elections just around the corner," these sources emphasize, who frame the replacement of Hernández in a strategy to

reactivate

the party that was decided, they add, even before the elections were called. Madrilenians.

From other Vox sources it goes further and states that the change is due both to that "new time" with electoral airs and to an attempt to

mark distances

with the PP after a half of the legislature in which the proximity has been maximum and almost absolute understanding.

To the point that none of the threats of rupture that, on more than one occasion, have been launched from the radical right-wing party due to the breaches of the pact with PP and Ciudadanos has materialized.

If it is about looking for your

own profile

, the change of course occurs just after Vox has signed with the partners of the Andalusian Government an ambitious tax reduction that the Abascal party has been quick to sell as its own achievement.

In any case, it is not without logic that those who have supported with their votes in Parliament an executive formed by two parties of which it is competence -especially the PP- seek to distance themselves and a speech of their own when the electoral call begins to glimpse on the horizon.

In what all the sources agree is that it is not necessary to understand that the new parliamentary spokesman is the one chosen to head the

electoral poster

, touch when touch.

One of the names that, in this sense, have sounded the most to contest the Presidency of the Board is that of the national deputy

Macarena Olona

, who in recent months has been seen by Andalusia and has even made statements about a future and hypothetical pact with the PP.

However, the national leadership has assured EL MUNDO that this decision has not been made.

At least for now.

More changes

Alejandro Hernández will continue to exercise functions in the parliamentary monitoring committees of the

RTVA

, in the investigation of the Andalusian Foundation Training and Employment Fund (

Faffe

), as well as in those of Statutory Development, Regulation and Consultative Appointments and Relations with the Ombudsman of the Town and Petitions.

Within the framework of this internal reorganization, the deputy for Seville

Macario Valpuesta

has been appointed as the new president of the Vox parliamentary group in Andalusia, replacing precisely Manuel Gavira, who until now held that position.

In addition, Valpuesta will continue to perform the functions of spokesperson in the parliamentary committees for Education and Sports and Development, Infrastructures and Spatial Planning, as well as as a member of the Economic Transformation, Industry, Knowledge and Universities committee.

For his part, the Vox deputy for Granada

Francisco José Ocaña

has been appointed secretary general of the parliamentary group to replace

Eugenio Moltó

, with seat for the province of Malaga.

Ocaña is a spokesperson for Vox in the Economic Transformation, Industry, Knowledge and Universities commission, and a member of the Tourism, Regeneration, Justice and Local Administration commission, as well as in the Development, Infrastructure and Land Management commission.

Eugenio Moltó will continue as spokesperson in the Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Sustainable Development commissions, as well as vice president of the Employment, Training and Self-Employed Commission, and member of the Health and Families commission.
