Lübeck (dpa / lno) - VfB Lübeck has little chance of remaining in the 3rd football league, but does not want to give up hope.

But the team should play with a different attitude in the remaining three games of the season.

"In the 90 minutes I never had the feeling that we were fighting for our last chance," said sports director Rocco Leeser the "Lübecker Nachrichten" after the recent 3-0 home defeat against Wehen Wiesbaden.

The Lübeckers are penultimate with 31 points.

Three game days before the end of the season, the team is seven points behind the saving 16th place. SV Meppen takes the place, where the Lübeckers have to compete on Sunday (1:00 p.m.).

If VfB loses, relegation to the Regionalliga Nord is certain.

"The only thing that can help us now is a miracle," said Captain Tommy Grupe.

The other opponents are FSV Zwickau at home (May 17th) and promotion candidate Hansa Rostock (May 22nd).
