The announcement came in connection with the quarterly report for Stampengruppen being submitted today.

The deal means that the West Swedish newspaper group is now owned almost 100 percent by Norwegian by Polaris Media AS, Swedish NWT Gruppen AB and VK Media AB.

Bought GP 1926

This means that the Hjörne family, who have owned the newspaper since 1926, are now ending their newspaper era.

According to Peter Hjörne, who will continue as editorial columnist in Göteborgs-Posten until the autumn of 2022, the decision will leave the group in its financially difficult years.

- With the stability that exists today, it is a good time to hand over the entire responsibility to a major owner with the same long-term attitude and focus on journalism and to continue to develop the newspapers, he says in a press release.
