Hanover (dpa / lni) - Schoolchildren in Lower Saxony should deal more intensively with the globalized world and sustainable development in the future.

The Ministry of Culture in Hanover ordered the schools to do this in a decree presented on Thursday.

The point is that in the various subjects, attention is paid to questions of climate change and biodiversity, but also to the injustices between the different parts of the world.

At each school, a teacher should be named as a contact person for education for sustainable development.

The decree is part of the initiative to make schools democratic and participatory.
