Prime Minister Candidate Kim Bu-gyeom announced today (6th) that he would seek to expand the benefits for military personnel.

Candidate Kim said to a related inquiry by Democratic Party Rep. Kim Byeong-joo at a hearing in the National Assembly today, "The state should recognize the hard work of young people who have dedicated a part of their lives for the country and provide the least benefits in various forms."

"For example, Hobong Gasan is already being done by public institutions and some private companies," he said. "We will continue to seek to expand these benefits."

He expressed a negative view on the military bonus system, saying, "In 1999, it was unconstitutional to give additional points for promotion and recruitment."
