Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - In Saxony-Anhalt, the value of corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week has continued to fall.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported a seven-day incidence of 130.8 on Thursday.

The value was 1.1 below that of the previous day and 1.7 above the nationwide value (129.1).

The RKI again reported the lowest seven-day value in Saxony-Anhalt for the state capital Magdeburg, where the number fell from 74.5 to 67.8.

This means that the state capital has a good chance of being able to suspend the strict rules of the so-called federal emergency brake soon: On Thursday, the value was below 100 for the fourth working day in a row.

After the fifth working day in a row below 100, the federal emergency brake can be released, rules such as night exit restrictions then cease to apply on the day after next.

If the value does not rise above 100 on Friday, only the rules of the state ordinance apply in Magdeburg from Sunday onwards.

Magdeburg is the only one of the 14 districts of Saxony-Anhalt that currently has this perspective: Only in the neighboring district of Börde was the seven-day value on Thursday below 100 (93.0), but on the first day.

In Jerichower Land the value was 96 on Wednesday, but exceeded 100 again on Thursday (104.9).

The RKI reported the highest incidences in the state for the Salzlandkreis (175.5) and the Burgenlandkreis (175.0).
