Burgstädt (dpa / sn) - After an attack by his partner, a 53-year-old man died in the hospital.
He died of his serious injuries on Wednesday, the police said on Thursday.
The man was found on Sunday with life-threatening injuries in the shared apartment in Burgstädt (Central Saxony district).
The police did not provide any information about the type of injuries.
The Chemnitz public prosecutor's office and the Chemnitz criminal police are investigating the 53-year-old woman for attempted manslaughter.
She had been provisionally arrested on the spot and was reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of arrest.
At the request of the Chemnitz public prosecutor's office, the woman was brought before an investigating judge on Monday.
The latter issued an arrest warrant, which, however, was suspended with conditions.
