Mainz (dpa / lrs) - The Greens in Rhineland-Palatinate met on Thursday evening for a digital party conference to vote on the coalition agreement with the SPD and FDP.

Following speeches by Environment Minister Anne Spiegel, state chairwoman Misbah Khan and parliamentary group leader Bernhard Braun, among others, the 186 delegates were to be called on to vote.

The extraordinary state delegate assembly was controlled by the board of the state party from Mainz.

State chairman Josef Winkler said at the beginning of the meeting: "We are here in the Hall of Joy of Life in the new community center in Mainz-Finthen - if you haven't noticed it, please start with it!"

Parallel to the Greens, the SPD and FDP also wanted to decide on the coalition agreement at party congresses on Thursday evening.

The election of the second traffic light government under Prime Minister Malu Dreyer (SPD) is scheduled for May 18th.
