Konstanz (dpa) - After several postponements, the German Bodensee-Schifffahrt plans to start the season on May 13th.
Because of the current corona incidences, one will wait a few more days, said the managing director of the Bodensee-Schiffsbetriebe (BSB), Frank Weber, on Thursday.
"But as the numbers continue to fall, we are very optimistic that it will start on Ascension Day."
Since the BSB anticipates little interest for the time being, a reduced emergency schedule is planned, a spokesman said.
But the ships are supposed to head for the island of Mainau and the state garden show in Überlingen.
As long as the corona situation allows it, the BSB announced that the regular spring schedule should start before Pentecost.
Then more passengers can be expected again.
Originally, the German ships had wanted to start their voyages at Easter together with those from Austria and Switzerland.
After that, April 19 was targeted for the start.
On the Swiss and Austrian side, there are tours within the national borders, but no regular service.
