The spotlights and the hall lighting in the St. Pauli Theater are switched on.

Actor Marek Erhardt sits on the stage at a table and in front of a microphone.

He reads from Erich Kästner's humorous short story “A lovely evening”.

It could be a perfectly normal event, only one thing is missing: the audience.

But Marek Erhardt's appearance will not be entirely without spectators.

Together with other celebrities, he is part of the online show “One comes, all of them join in”, which will be streamed on May 12th from 8pm at www.einerkommt.de

People sing, dance and read in favor of Hamburg's culture - and that in a wide variety of locations such as the Molotow, the Zeise cinemas, the Allee Theater or the market hall.

Every ticket sold from 22 euros or more will then benefit the MenscHHamburg association, which uses the proceeds to support cultural workers in need.

All celebrities like Bjarne Mädel, Ina Müller, Tim Mälzer, Heinz Rudolf Kunze or Arndt Zeigler appear alone and without a fee.

WELT AM SONNTAG is the campaign's media partner.

“Many people who we don't see straight away in the cultural sector because they work behind the stage, for example, were pulled from under their feet during the pandemic,” says Marek Erhardt. He himself was very lucky and was able to continue to stand in front of the camera. "I like to give something back and immediately said yes to the project," explains Erhardt. He himself has used the time more intensively until now, cooking with his children, watching series and films. However, the actor wasn't just sitting on the couch. “I've lost twelve kilos and do sports five days a week.” For this purpose, the 52-year-old has equipped a small room at home with a rowing machine and TRX sling straps to train the whole body. How did it come about? "I felt I had to do something for myself."

Doing something and not just talking is what Rhea Harder thinks is good in the “One comes, everyone participates” campaign.

“It's a great idea to show: Hey, we're all still here and ready to go.

The audience can also do something in a good way without it looking like alms. "

She herself misses the various cultural offers in the city.

“I would like to fall into a cinema seat armed with nachos again,” she says.

What the actress will do first when the cultural institutions are allowed to reopen has not yet been determined.

“It's hard to say because I like a wide variety of things like the Kammerspiele, the State Opera, the Elbphilharmonie or the Winterhuder Fährhaus.

Of course, that also depends on the program. ”It would be great to have the freedom again to go wherever you want to.

Pinar Atalay came to the Zeise cinemas for her appearance.

The “Tagesthemen” presenter says: “Culture is so incredibly lively and keeps us alive.” Above all, she lacks the associated emotions at the moment.

For them, culture also means doing something together.

“And that's something I really miss, going to a concert, for example.

I would like to go there again. ”To go out privately, she prefers smaller shops like Grünspan, the Fabrik or the Reeperbahn Festival.

"I'd like to have something like that again." She knows only too well from her environment how much almost all artists are suffering right now: "Hardly anyone can do their job."

Singer Sebastian Krumbiegel can also report on this.

He has many in his circle of friends in Leipzig who are DJs and musicians.

“They are not lucky enough to be able to live on preserves like we do, because they have always lived from hand to mouth.

And at the moment they are simply completely left out. ”In addition, it is also about the people who keep the entire cultural scene alive, such as technicians, caterers and logistics specialists.

“Without them we couldn't do anything.

That's why I think this campaign is so great. "
