Mainz (AP) - SPD, Greens and FDP are voting today at three party congresses on the coalition agreement to form the new Rhineland-Palatinate state government.

The meetings start at 6 p.m.

Because of the corona pandemic, the party congress delegates will only meet digitally.

In addition, the new state executive committee is elected at the SPD.

It is the first time that the Rhineland-Palatinate Social Democrats vote their party leadership digitally.

In the new traffic light government, the SPD will again provide five ministers, the Greens and the FDP again two each.

After several weeks of negotiations, the three parties agreed on a coalition agreement for the next five years last week.

The focus is on the fight against global warming, the expansion of Rhineland-Palatinate into a leading biotechnology location and the modernization of inner cities.
