Parchim / Hamburg (dpa / mv) - The police from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania have caught a suspected drug dealer in Hamburg who has been wanted for a good year and a half.

As the State Criminal Police Office announced on Wednesday in Schwerin, an arrest warrant has been issued and executed against the 41-year-old man on suspicion of drug trafficking.

The suspect is said to have operated a cannabis plantation on his family's property in Mestlin near Parchim.

The police had already seized these during a search in October 2019 and found several weapons.

Since then, the man had been wanted by an arrest warrant from the Ludwigslust district court.

Investigators arrested the 41-year-old, who had no permanent residence, on April 30 in Hamburg.

It was said that he was taken to a prison in Bützow.

According to the police, more than 50 plants with a height of more than two meters were seized in the garden at that time.

Processed and packaged cannabis products and weapons were also discovered in the Hamburg native's house.

The drug value was estimated at several thousand euros.
