Saarbrücken (dpa) - The Saarland Ministry of Health is also planning special vaccinations in socially disadvantaged areas.

These should take place in coordination with the community projects, the ministry announced on Wednesday in Saarbrücken.

Since the beginning of the week, for example, mobile vaccination teams in Cologne have been going to districts with socially disadvantaged areas such as Chorweiler to vaccinate in a targeted manner.

The state of North Rhine-Westphalia initially made 1000 vaccine doses available for the pilot project.

The Rhineland-Palatinate state government, on the other hand, is not planning any special vaccination campaigns for mobile teams in special city districts.

"Health care offers should be accessible to everyone and must not depend on social origin," said the Ministry of Health in Mainz.

The Federal Vaccination Ordinance takes this principle into account and Rhineland-Palatinate implements it.
