Wetzlar (dpa / lhe) - A pedestrian was slightly injured in a collision with a car.

The man was walking on the street with his dog in Wetzlar on Tuesday evening when the car came towards him, the police said on Wednesday.

The vehicle was traveling too fast and the 49-year-old pedestrian asked the driver with a hand signal to slow down.

The car caught the man, according to police, and threw him on the hood and then on the ground.

The car drove on after the collision.

The injured was cared for by an ambulance crew.

The 18-year-old driver returned after half an hour.

He described the collision differently from the pedestrian and stated that he was in shock and therefore drove on.

The police took the man to the station and secured his car and driver's license, it said.

After a negative alcohol test, the driver was released on Wednesday morning.
