Mainz (dpa / lrs) - The health authorities in Rhineland-Palatinate reported 944 new corona infections on Wednesday.

The seven-day incidence fell to 107.5 infections per 100,000 inhabitants, as the state investigation office announced.

This is the lowest value since April 10th.

A week ago it was 134.8, a month ago it was 103.9.

According to the authority, 15,668 people in the country are currently infected with the Sars-CoV-2 pathogen.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3590 Covid-19 patients have died, 13 more than the day before (as of 2.10 p.m.).

The highest seven-day incidence was according to the figures from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), which are relevant for the federal emergency brake, on Wednesday morning (as of 3:10 a.m.) in the city of Speyer with 203.7.

This is followed by the city of Ludwigshafen (162.0), the Donnersbergkreis (156.7) and the city of Worms (153.2).

22 of the 36 counties and cities have an incidence of 100.

The Vulkaneifel district has the lowest incidence at 39.6.

In the state capital Mainz there are 148.2.

According to the state investigation office, 45 Covid 19 patients were brought to hospital within one day.

According to the latest data from the intensive care register of the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive and Emergency Medicine (Divi), 194 Covid 19 patients were in intensive care units in hospitals in Rhineland-Palatinate.

107 of them received invasive ventilation (as of Tuesday 12.15 p.m.).

The pandemic began in Rhineland-Palatinate at the end of February 2020 with a positive test in Koblenz.

Since then, it has been proven that 143 420 people have been infected with Sars-CoV-2 in the state.
