Hanover (dpa / lni) - A 51-year-old man is said to have painted a zebra crossing on a street in Hanover early Tuesday morning.

The police were quickly informed of the action.

“The fire brigade then, with administrative assistance, removed the white paint with plenty of water.

But that didn't quite work, ”said a police spokesman on Wednesday evening.

The suspected man could now face bills for property damage.

At first nothing was known about the motif.

The "Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung" (HAZ) had reported about it first.
