Tacos and quesadillas to go: US President Joe Biden made a brief visit to a Washington restaurant on Wednesday to tout his plan to support the economy.

This surprise exit from the White House to join the Taqueria Las Gemelas was aimed at promoting the "Restaurant Revitalization Fund".

Endowed with 28 billion dollars, the latter aims to give a boost to one of the sectors hardest hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Josh Phillips, one of the owners, told dc.eater.com that the White House tenant ordered four tacos and two quesadillas.

“These are my tacos!” He said, amused, turning to his team as they left the scene.

Vice-President Kamala Harris, she expressed her support for the stimulus plan by stopping in a bookstore during a trip to Providence, in the state of Rhode Island.

She came out of "Books on the Square" with three novels and a cookbook.

"I will find the time (to read)," she assured.
